It used to be that there wasn't much automakers could do about human error. All they could do was to build machines better able to survive a crash, and protect occupants inside. Today, computers are changing everything.

The 2017 Ford Fusion, for example, is available with a feature called Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection.

It's hard to imagine the midsize sedan segment without the Ford Fusion. Since it was introduced in its current form in 2012, this car has come to mean a lot to a lot of people, thanks to its eye-catching, aggressive styling, and variety of models. For 2017, that has only expanded with the addition of two new trims and more features than ever.
