New Ford Maverick: Performance

The new Ford Maverick is powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission in its non-electrified version. This powertrain yields an impressive gasoline economy around Andover and Methuen. The Maverick's hybrid version has a naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine mated to an electric motor. The transmission for the hybrid Maverick is a continuously variable automatic. The hybrid version gets far greater gasoline economy, while the gasoline-only version shines with better horsepower. Both of these powertrains can tow medium-sized trailers out to your favorite campsite with the available towing package. You can choose your Maverick in front- or all-wheel drive.

An exciting new trim model, the Lobo, comes standard with the turbocharged four-cylinder engine, all-wheel drive, and a seven-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The latter provides some manual transmission capabilities. The Lobo is a race-inspired truck with 19-inch wheels, a lowered suspension, and beefier brakes. A special drive mode that allows the Lobo's tail to loosen a bit as you exit a curve.

The off-road enhanced Tremor trim model adds an advanced four-wheel drive system with a twin-clutch rear drive unit, a locking rear differential, higher ground clearance, an off-road-tuned suspension, and skid plates.

Standard and available technology on the new Ford Maverick includes an infotainment touchscreen with Apple and Android connectivity, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 360-degree camera system, SiriusXM satellite radio, a premium audio system, and wireless smartphone charging. Standard and available advanced safety features include automatic frontal emergency braking, a lane-departure warning system with lane-keeping assistance, and adaptive cruise control.
