Ford has been changing the work truck game ever since it began adding aluminum skin to its lineup. Now, it’s the Super Duty lineup's turn. Thanks to a high-strength, fully-boxed steel frame and aluminum skin, these beasts are quite a bit lighter than the models they replace. Pair that with upgraded powertrains, and you have a lineup with some of the best capability numbers in the industry.
In addition to the new materials, Ford has added output to the two top tier engines in the Super Duty range. The turbodiesel V8 now gets a class-topping 925 lb-ft of twist, while the gasoline V8 garners 430 lb-ft of torque. For towing, the F-250 and F-350 top out at 18,000 lbs., while the F-450 can haul up to 32,500 lbs. These are best-in-class ratings, and in some cases out-do competing models by hundreds, if not thousands of pounds.
If you're on the market for a chart-topping pickup with plenty to offer, the Super Duty might just be your ticket. To find out, stop by our Ford dealership in Salem, NH this autumn and schedule a test drive.
